WoW Update

My dwarf shaman has made it past the level 30 milestone.

I rolled a new blood elf paladin as well.

Not so certain about the aspect of role playing. I sorta lost journaling about my character last week; however, what I can say about my dwarf is that he has become much more militant... which is sorta the genre that WoW goes under. The game has been fun so far. I did do some world PvP. I lost horribly to a character with equipment that levels as you play. It's a new feature in the game that sorta bugs me. How can world PvP be balanced when players have unequal equipment? It's sorta forced on WoW players to purchase the scaling equipment, so they can play competitively.

I'm not entirely competitive. The idea of world PvP is more fun than actual battles. I enjoy the thrill of being in contested lands and sneaking about with quests that force me to enter into camps and do different sorts of things. WoW has good quest writers and game design.

How did your weekend go?

I went up to Chicago a couple months ago and keep forgetting to post this. I spent a day at the zoo and conservatory in Lincoln Park near the lake shore. I nearly didn't bother with the children's zoo, but I ended up over there looking for something else. The trails through it are set up like a woodland trail--sort of narrow and winding through a lot of birch plantings, and covered in bird poo. Near one stand of trees, the zoo had posted a few signs saying basically "yes, we know the paths are messy and please also don't bother the herons above you; those aren't ours."

Apparently black-crowned night herons are on the Illinois state endangered list, but there's been a flock of them nesting in the zoo and somewhere else further south in the park for the last few summers.

In the interest of Being Excellent and considerate of those who plan to watch this episode, all references to the content of this episode are stashed under the cut and will remain so hidden for at least a month. Someponies like to watch MLP:FIM in herds and it can be a while before they get all their ponies together. 8^) As spoilers are also likely to be in any comments: don't read if you haven't yet seen the episode unless you like being spoiled. When you're ready, drop in a comment and say what you thought of this episode!

After a month, I hope Episode Discuss posts will be so far off the top page that it'll probably take the tag to find them, so about a month after posting the cut will be removed. 8^) Sometimes I go back and drop in little extras into the posts, like comics and links to the music.

Broadcast starts at 11:30 am Eastern Daylight Savings Time, which should work out to 4:30 pm UTC, 8:30 am PST and maybe about 11:30 PM Down Under. Confused? Look at the PonyCountdown widget on the community page!

Written by Josh Hamilton.

For those of you following Twitter, you can follow writers Nick Confalone (Hearthbreakers), Mike and Will Fox (The Gift of the Maud Pie), Joanna and Kristine (Gauntlet of Fire), Dave Polsky (Rarity Takes Manehattan) and Jennifer Skelly (Buckball Season). Other twits in the early morning chorus may include the likes of Meghan McCarthy, Jayson Thiessen (Supervising Director of MLP:FIM), Andrea Libman , the voice of Dragon Lord Ember Ali Milner, Big Jim (storyboard work, voice of Troubleshoes and Director of MLP:FIM), Mike Vogel and Josh Haber. The hashtag to watch should be #MLPseason7.

Today is Sat Aug 19.

That means I have seven days to pack and clean, three days to move, and half a day to clean before I have to hand back the keys to this here apartment. (Double-counting the day on which we get the keys to our new apartment. And WHY did I not ask for Mon 28 off too? My sorry ass is going to be cleaning that day from eight to three-thirty and working for that paycheck from four to midnight!)

This apartment does not look moving-ready. This apartment looks like the aftermath of Hurricane Alex—send in the Red Cross!

My todo list has seven sections. Each section has from four to fifteen bullet points. While most are once they're done they're done, some of them will need done more than once this week. (Six of the day's bullets are four instances of "eat" and two of "feed cat", and "rest 10min for every 20min working" will appear as often as it damn well needs to, but that's totally beside the point.)

My anxiety level is already RED ALERT. My spoon level has spent a lot of time recently at DANGER DANGER, and isn't terribly far above that now. (I got my psych doc to prescribe lorazepam for as-needed over the next couple weeks, in order to calm my shit because 100% focus on calming centering breaths means nothing else gets done and less than 100% focus on etc was for days meaning being on the verge of an anxiety attack, but. And no, having other warm bodies to help—except on Sat 26, which is furniture hauling day—is not apparently an option; I keep asking.)

I need all the cheerleading I can get!

Hello! ♡

Age: 21, turning 22 next month!
Location: Hawaii, USA
Subscription/Access Policy: Mostly friends-only, but I'd love to add anyone who shares similar interests!

Interests and hobbies: Right now, my main fandom is Hey! Say! JUMP/Johnny's Entertainment groups. I also like anime (Cardcaptor Sakura, Noragami, Sword Art Online, Owari no Seraph, Kuzu no Honkai, Kimi no na wa, Sukitte ii na yo, etc.) and video games (Persona 3 + 4 + 5, League of Legends, Overwatch, Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, etc.) , but my interest in those are wavering a bit. ;w; I passively try to become more fluent in Japanese, so anything in the language has a chance of piquing my interest, haha. Other than those things though, I don't have too many prominent hobbies, as I'm a student and I have a retail job, so I don't have too much free time. :<

Looking for: Anyone with similar interests, mostly HSJ/JE groups! ;w; I used to be on LJ back in the day and had a blast connecting with others in the same fandoms, but I've been having a hard time finding friends on DW. (._.);;

I wonder how it got there..

Why do we measure people's capacity
To love by how well they love their progeny?

That kind of love is easy. Encoded.
Any lion can be devoted

To its cubs. Any insect, be it prey
Or predator, worships its own DNA.

Like the wolf, elephant, bear, and bees,
We humans are programmed to love what we conceive... )

I'm back! And just in time for the sweet Bannishment schadenfreude following another harrowing week (we watched Last Week Tonight from two weeks and it felt like everything John Oliver joked about happened months and months ago because this is apparently the curse of 2017).

Here's a super brief itinerary:

Aug 9th: To in-law's home in Switzerland
Aug 10th: More in-law's place
Aug 11th: Random hotel in Montreux
Aug 12th: In-law's mountain village chalet
Aug 13th: Back at in-law's place
Aug 14th: Flight home
Aug 15th: Home
Aug 16th: Flight to Sweden + apartment hunting in new town
Aug 17th: Meet ALL the new colleagues + fly back home
Aug 18th: Back at work

Or for anyone wanting to catch up on what I've been up to  in slightly more (but still brief) detail:

Aug 9th: Woke to new plans announced by Family causing me to stress out and then calm down. Flight to Switzerland (resigned to Heathrow's awful Surprise Gate system); family dinner
Aug 10th: Lovely steam boat trip on Lake Geneva, the mountains still shrouded in clouds
Aug 11th: Original New Plan suddenly replaced by on the spot plan conveyed by phone after fun castle outing; causing me to... just kind of deal because this is what the in-laws are like and stressing out won't change anything. Night unexpectedly spent in random hotel!
Aug 12th: Family thermal pool trip; night spent in mountain chalet... really can't complain.
Aug 13th: Broke away from family to visit my home village & good friends there. Lots of time on trains. Also news from cat sitters that Meenie had escaped and been recaptured!
Aug 14th: Trip home; dealing with crappy Geneva airport (it really is the opposite of what you imagine when you hear the words "Swiss airport"), delayed flight, and general exhaustion from family + too little sleep.
Aug 15th: Errands including dentist (extra fun: discover at 2pm out on run that the 3pm appointment in calendar was 3pm SWISS TIME because Google was being "helpful" and appointment is actually due right now across town from where you're on a run...), unpacking Swiss bags to pack bag for Sweden trip.
Aug 16th: Up at 5am to catch flight out of Gatwick, then tight connection to arrive in New Town for the first time and scout it out before heading to apartment showing.
Aug 17th: Spend all day meeting new people, being introduced to new workplace and new town and doing a ridiculous amount of walking in nice (i.e. not my most comfy) shoes before catching a flight back and arriving home after 10pm.
Aug 18th: Back at work

I am deeply grateful for the Compeed band-aid/plasters that kept my heels from fraying completely, have broken all my steps per week records, and my legs are giving me a preview of what they will feel like in another thirty years.

That said...

Mid-week Anti-procrastination Post

Well, it's a little belated but we've not got to the weekend here yet, so I figure we're still good to call it a midweek anti procrastination post.

So what have you been tackling? How's that motivation going? What's your priority absolutely must not be procrastinated task?

If you're in need of a challenge or a little encouragement.... Hmmm, now let me think... How about 10 minutes (or whatever time suits) to tackle something clothing related - suggestions include : sorting washing into loads that can be done together, actually tackling a load of laundry, handwashing some items, folding some dry clothes, ironing, re-organising a drawer, shelf or wardrobe space to make it more user friendly. I'm sure there are other related tasks. Ooh, I've thought of another - repairing an item e.g. sewing a button on.

Set the timer for the amount of time you think you can spare or manage energy wise and go for it. Surprise yourself with just how awesome you are! And share with us.

Good luck, team! You're awesome!

Summary:

‘I wanna lick your face.’

Bell had said it. Marcus was sure she had, Bole and Pucey had heard her too. Girls like her - -well, girls in general, did not say such things to him. Nor did they sniff his neck or stand so close that he could feel their tits pressed against his back. Bell had done all those things. To top it off, she kept staring at him like in the same way his perpetually dieting Aunt Beatrice looked at chocolate cake after a week-long fasting.

Or

Marcus Flint has an admirer and he's being an utter tool about it.
